Ruthie Foster, Mr. Sipp nominated for Grammy Awards
The Recording Academy announced nominations today for the 2024 Grammy Awards, which will take place Sunday, Feb. 4, in Los Angeles.
Among the nominees were Reading Blues Fest headliners Ruthie Foster and Mr. Sipp.
Foster was nominated in the Best Contemporary Blues Album for her “Healing Time” CD recording.
Mr. Sipp was nominated in the Best Traditional Blues Album for his “The Soul Side of Sipp” CD recording. Mr. Sipp also performed on the "Basie Swings the Blues" CD recording that received a Grammy nomination in the "Best Large Jazz Ensemble Album.”
Foster is set to perform Saturday, Nov. 18, 8:00 p.m., during the Reading Blues Fest in the DoubleTree Grand Ballroom in a co-bill with Kevin Burt & Big Medicine.
Mr. Sipp is set to perform Sunday, Nov. 19 at 11:30 a.m., during the Sunday Gospel Blues Brunch in the DoubleTree Grand Ballroom. Mr. Sipp & The True Believers will be joined by the Reading-based Fresh Wind Gospel Ensemble for the final concert of the fest.
