Keyboardist/vocalist Dave Keyes, who will perform two solo shows during Reading Blues Fest, has been a sideman, soloist and band leader for three decades.
The native New Yorker has worked extensively with artists including Odetta, Bo Diddley, gospel great Marie Knight, Popa Chubby, Ronnie Spector and Alexis P. Suter.
His credits as a sideman are legion, and include Gladys Knight, Lou Rawls and Levon Helm.
His sixth album, “The Healing” (2017), recorded with his band (who won the International Blues Challenge), includes gospel, blues, boogies and shuffles. He has conducted for Broadway and TV shows, and is the founder, with saxophonist Chris Eminizer, of Crave Music, which creates scores for television and other media.
