TAB BENOIT
When singer/guitarist Tab Benoit, born in Baton Rouge, La., released his first album, “Nice and Warm” (Justice) in 1992, he was compared to masters like Albert King, Albert Collins and Jimi Hendrix.
His touring schedule averaged 250 shows a year for many years, as he released five more albums.
In 2002, Benoit formed a three-piece group focused on Louisiana’s coastal erosion issues, and in 2004 he founded Voice of the Wetlands, a non-profit dedicated to bringing awareness to those issues. His Voice of the Wetlands All-Stars released two albums and toured the country; his album “Wetlands” began incorporating Louisiana’s other musical styles in its collection of originals.
He recently founded Whiskey Bayou Records with his partner and manager Rueben Williams, and in 2019 he and other artists from his label toured as the Whiskey Bayou Revue.
